Sergio Gomez, Phd’s Expertise I received his M.S. degree in Telecomunication Engineering from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, in 2009. I spent one year researching about Wireless Mesh Networks at King’s College London. In 2010, I started a PhD degree in Electronics Engineering at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC). My doctoral thesis was focus on proposing new layout design styles in order to mitigate lithography induced process variations for advanced technology nodes (40nm and below) in IC design. I obtained my PhD degree in Electronics in October 2014 with a qualification of Excellent Cum Laude. From May 2014, I an working in the instrumentation service SiUB (siub.ub.edu) from the Physics Facutlty at Universitat de Barcelona. My tasks includes the design and testing of ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) for research groups inside the UB, other research institutes and companies. For instance, I participated in the development of SIPM readout ASICs for the upgrade of a detector in the LHCb at CERN and ASICs for Positron Emission Tomography (PET). I participated in several projects, including the European FP7 "SYNAPTIC" project during my phD, the Spanish project "Present and future challenges for the experiment in the LHCb at CERN" and the ICC-UB project for the 'preparation of the Cherenkov Telescope Array'. I published several research articles in international journals (detailed below), presented several papers in prestigious conferences and I obtained a patent in 2016. My teaching activities includes a lab teacher of Digital Design using Cadence Spectre during the course 2012/2013 at ETSETB at UPC. Moreover, I co-directed one final degree project that obtained an excellent qualification. Lastly, My research interests are VLSI design, design for manufacturability, lithography enhanced layout design, litho-friendly standard cell library creation and characterization, analog design and full chip ASIC design.
